The stepwells of India have long been made desirable and romantic thanks to their prolific features in our favourite movies from the country. Upon visiting Jodhpur, I had envisioned the particular type of photo I wanted to take of the place, the same photo you might already have seen time and again, until I noticed these three men at work taking a break from proceedings. As crumbs dropped to the waiting fish in the pool below and a hammer lazily lumbered against the stone, they laughed upon their varied suspensions and took their time with their reparations.
