Regency Care

Regency Care Australia

The Brief:
Create a character-driven campaign centered on real client stories, showing how Regency Care’s mobility equipment supports independence, resilience, and everyday life. The focus is not on products, but on people and lived experience, using a light-hearted, warm, and occasionally humorous tone - essentially a love letter to human resilience.

The campaign is designed to feel authentic, hopeful, and emotionally engaging, highlighting dignity, personality, and connection rather than clinical or sales-driven messaging.

An important part of this story is place. The local community provides the natural setting for our hero’s daily life, helping to show Regency Care not just as a service provider, but as a genuine part of the community.

The Deliverables:
-
A short 3minute documentary-style video of Wilson, a Regency Care client
- 5 x 30s social edits for reels and Linkedin
- A photography package of 35+ images for showroom posters in Dubbo of Wilson in the local community

The Budget: $12,500

The Approach:
From the outset, I was incredibly excited to help bring this campaign for Regency Care to life. Projects centered on people and lived experience sit at the heart of my practice, and this story offered an opportunity to create something honest, warm, and deeply human.

Central to the campaign was our hero, Wilson. Drawing on my experience working closely with individuals in sensitive and personal storytelling environments, I felt it was essential to build a genuine relationship with him well before the camera was introduced. Spending time together over Zoom allowed us to move beyond the surface and understand who Wilson is; his humour, his resilience, and the everyday passions that shape his life.

These conversations revealed the moments that would give the film authenticity and truth: his love of rugby, wheelchair basketball, time with his dog Rere, and the journey that brought him to where he is today. Establishing trust in this way ensured that when filming began, the process felt relaxed and true to Wilson’s voice.

Challenges Faced:
Filming required a flexible approach throughout the day. It was important to remain adaptable and work around Wilson’s needs and comfort, ensuring the process felt supportive at all times.

We also had to think on our feet when conditions changed, particularly with weather that didn’t align with the original plan, throwing our shot list out the window. Adjusting locations, timing, and coverage on the fly had us relying on creative intuition without disrupting the flow of the day.

Finally, drawing out the strongest interview required patience and careful conversation. Creating a relaxed environment helped Wilson speak openly, allowing the story to feel natural, honest, and true to his experience, which remained central to the intentions of the campaign for Regency Care.
